"Very high reliability is a basic requirement."
As Sweden's largest university for technical research and education, KTH brings together students, researchers and faculty from all over the world. Five campuses in the Stockholm region are home to over 18,000 full-time students, PhD students and full-time employees. KTH has been using Generic for many years for notifications of alarms and events.
We had a chat with Michael Granzell, Group Manager Security at KTH.
Michael, what does KTH Generics use services for?
- Our security function covers physical security with a focus on entry, shell protection, surveillance, systematic fire protection, alarms and security planning, but also a variety of security-related tasks, functions and information.
With Generic's services, alarms and events are relayed to alarm centers and security companies for further handling and action. We also have a service for contact with the university's crisis and emergency management.
What problems do the services solve for you?
- Both the services and the technology have very high reliability and coverage. Today, we use both SMS and Minicall and can rely on messages reaching the right people directly.
What added value do Generic's services bring to you and your customers?
- The services are easy and secure to use and provide us with a good follow-up of cases.
Why did you choose Generic as your supplier?
- Generic has previously delivered a similar service to KTH with good results. We felt that you could respond well to our increased requirements for coverage and security, so it was natural to continue to use you.
What was important in choosing a supplier?
- For us, it is important to have a supplier who understands the requirements of the security business area, the needs of the customer group and the requirements of the purpose of the service. Very high reliability is a basic requirement.
Finally Michael, what is the best thing about Generic?
- A strong customer focus, being responsive to developments and easy to deal with.
