Generic Recruits the Swedish Migration Agency's e-Profile

Thomas Wahlberg, 47, is one of Sweden’s most accomplished project managers in the field of e-government. Since 2008, he has served as the lead project manager for the Swedish Migration Agency’s e-government program, e-migration, which aims to improve service, streamline the agency’s operations, and make it a model for e-services within the government.
To date, applications for citizenship, applications by foreign students for residence permits to study in Sweden, and applications for family-based immigration, among others, have been digitized. In 2011, these services were honored with the eDiamond Award for best e-government service. These e-services have significantly reduced processing times, which previously could take up to six months. Another e-service for work permit applications will be launched shortly.
From 2004 to 2008, Thomas Wahlberg served as project manager at the National Police Board (RPS) during the introduction of a new passport and national ID card. Prior to that, he worked as a project manager at Apoteket, among other roles. Thomas Wahlberg is a member of the e-Delegation’s working group, which coordinates the work of government agencies on e-government.
