More and more countries are introducing requirements for the registration of SMS senders, and now it is Spain and Austria's turn.
Spain
On September 15, 2026, Spain will introduce new regulatory requirements for text messages, requiring all text message senders to register with a Spanish regulatory authority. This means that unregistered text message senders will be blocked as of September 15, 2026. To prevent this from happening, the SMS senders you use must be registered.
We will, of course, assist you with the registration, but we need some information from you as a customer in order to complete the registration.
We will contact all customers who currently send recurring traffic to Spain directly to complete the registration process. However, if you want to start using new SMS senders, those must also be registered. All you need to do is contact us and let us know which SMS sender you want to use, and we’ll help you get started.
Austria
On October 1, 2026, Austria will introduce corresponding regulatory requirements for all SMS senders. This means that unregistered SMS senders will be blocked as of October 1, 2026. To avoid this, the SMS senders you use must be registered.
In Austria, the registration process is simpler, which means we are registering the SMS senders that our customers currently use. In other words, you do not need to take any action at this time.
However, if you plan to start using new SMS senders after August 24, they must be registered to avoid being blocked. We’ll, of course, help you with the registration process. All you need to do is contact us and let us know which SMS sender you want to use, and we’ll take care of the rest!
And as always, if you have any questions for us, just get in touch, and you'll get to speak with one of our experts 😊
